This week is a gap week, but that doesn’t mean the Kate Bush content has to take a break! No way!
Not when there’s a great interview from 1989 to share!
On Saturday October 14, two days before The Sensual World was released, Kate Bush was interviewed by British radio DJ Roger Scott for BBC Radio 1. Sadly, Roger Scott died of cancer later that month just days after his 46th birthday. In this episode, we have the interview in full, which was uploaded to Vimeo by user Blackbird Braille, and includes a brief intro and outro edited in from the broadcast version.
So sit back and listen as Kate talks about her recording process for The Sensual World and gives insights to some of the songs from the album (clips of which have already been used in song episodes this season and will continue to be used throughout the rest of the season!)!

Come and swim with us through the fog as we discuss the third track from The Sensual World, the dense, gorgeous, string-laden The Fog! On the show this week, we have friend of the show (and outside the show!) Zoey P, to discuss the gorgeous production on this song and what this song means to us!
Spoiler alert: a lot!

Take away the love and the anger, and what you’re left with is….. a new episode of Strange Phenomena!
This week, we have a first-timer on the show, author James DiBenedetto, and young fan Diego Ortega, to talk about a song that Kate has said herself was one of the most difficult songs she’s ever written.
And for a song that she insists she has no idea what the story is, we sure have a lot of thoughts on the lyrics! And the rest of the song!

Who else is ready to leave the pages of real world behind and go strutting with Kate Bush through a forest as the leaves fall and the rain comes down on your face?
We certainly are!
So leave behind the real world and join us for a journey into the first song episode for this season: the title track for Kate’s sixth album The Sensual World! We’re joined by friend of the show Zoey, who is here to talk ALL about the wonderful details of this song. That strutting music video. Macedonian folk music. And what does an Irish author have to do with a pop song?
It’s all here!
Yes, I said yes!

With everything going on in the world these days, who doesn’t want to be somewhere else but here?
I know! Let’s go to the Sensual World instead!
This week, we start our journey into the Sensual World with a special introduction episode about Kate Bush’s sixth album, The Sensual World. Released in October 1989, The Sensual World was Kate’s follow-up to the wildly successful Hounds of Love. Because it followed such a high seller of an album, TSW is considered by some to be one of Kate’s weakest albums.
Well, we’re here to prove that is NOT the case!
Cecilee has a special guest to talk about why The Sensual World is an album worth revisiting: UK author and graphic novelist Antony Johnston, writer of The Coldest City, the graphic novel that became the basis for the 2017 Charlize Theron movie Atomic Blonde. Cecilee and Antony discuss their favorite songs from The Sensual World, the history of the album (Bulgarian singers! Home studios! Exotic instruments!), and what this album means to them!
Then we go further into the Sensual World next week with the title track!
