My top 3, because I can’t pick just one!

I just know that something good is gonna happen, I don’t know when, but just saying it could even make it happen

Can you find it in your heart to let go of these feelings like a bell to a Southerly wind? We could be like two strings beating, speaking in sympathy.

I want the answers quickly but I don’t have the energy.

How Did I First Hear About Kate Bush: I first heard the name when I encountered the song Wuthering Heights by chance in the early 2000s. Then I kept hearing her songs popping up on Flashback Alternatives, which I listened to a LOT in late high school/early college (2003-2005ish). My mom even got The Red Shoes for me for Christmas around that time because the lady at Sam Goody told her, “Oh if your daughter likes British female artists, she’ll love Kate Bush. We have one of her albums here in stock. She’ll like this one.” I tried that album, didn’t like it, and would turn down Flashback Alternatives when she came on. After I heard her enough times, it clicked for me and I realized I really liked it. Then finding The Whole Story at a used CD store made me a fan! 🙂 That was around 2005. So Aerial was the first new Kate CD I ever got! 🙂

How Long Have I Been a Fan: since about 2005. I associate her a LOT with late 2005/early 2006 and going to France because that’s where I bought Lionheart and Never For Ever, two of my top albums of hers.

Favorite Kate-Related Story (i.e. meeting her, hearing her song in public in an unusual place, etc.): The most unusual place I’ve ever heard Kate’s music was in a Taco Bell around 2006. I was waiting for my food with a friend and realized, wait a second, this is Kate Bush! In a Taco Bell! In Virginia! Other little stories include meeting other random American Kate fans by chance, especially at the comic conventions I attend. Every so often, I get someone who says, “Oh yeah, I love Kate’s music! Glad you’re doing a podcast about her!” Cue twenty minutes of nerding over Kate’s music!
